COVID Booster Shots
Hard to believe we are already half way through the summer! In preparation for the fall COVID and Flu season and with the new COVID BA.5 variant circulating, we are recommending all nursing home and assisted living residents receive their COVID booster and Flu shots. Centers will provide access to Flu shots in September and boosters are available now.

Joshua Hillegass
AdministratorJoshua Hillegass is the Administrator at Woodland Hill Center. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Masters of Healthcare Administration. Joshua also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Akron. He has worked in a number of healthcare settings including both with the Hospital and with Skilled Nursing Facilities. Joshua looks forward to working with our Residents, Families, and Staff to improve the lives of those that we serve.

Crystal Harman
Director of NursingCrystal W. Harman oversees the nursing staff and overall nursing operations of the Woodland Hill Center Healthcare facility. In this role, Crystal evaluates and directs all nursing employees, establishing goals for the nursing department and creating and enforcing compliant healthcare policies while leading and supervising the nursing unit.
Crystal earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro before earning her degree in Nursing. While working toward her undergraduate degree, CNE. Crystal worked as a K-8 Spanish Teacher with Chatham County Schools while raising her children Christi, Luke, Zack and Logan. After graduation, she began her nursing career as a staff nurse at First Health Moore Regional Hospital Oncology Department. Before coming to work with Genesis HealthCare, Siler City Center she worked with Chatham Hospital as a staff nurse.
Beginning her career with Genesis HealthCare, Siler City Center in October 2006 she was hired as a staff nurse before transitioning into the role of minimum data set (MDS) coordinator. In this role she was able to incorporate her nursing skills with the business side of nursing by implementing federally mandated, standardized assessments to monitor the functional capabilities and healthcare needs of Medicare and Medicaid residents. Beginning a new journey within Genesis HealthCare, Siler City Center, Crystal took on the role of Assistant Director of Nursing assisting the DON to manage clinical operations, coordinate production activity, and supervise staff, ensuring quality care provided within the facility.
Crystal states that watching her coworkers use such patience and compassion, while serving those they care for, seeing the dedication of family members visiting their loved ones and listening to the life experiences of those she cares for makes her proud to be a part of such an amazing healthcare team.

Dr. Joel M Blass
Medical DirectorDr. Joel M Blass is the Medical Director for Genesis Woodland Hill Center. Dr. Blass has special training and skill in preventing, diagnosing, and treating physical and psychological conditions for patients and residents of all complexities. When meeting with the patients, he performs a complete medical history analysis, medical diagnostic screenings and non-surgical procedures to address a wide range of common medical conditions. Dr. Blass focuses on disease prevention and general maintenance of each patients' whole health while tailoring their treatment to each individual. Dr. Blass is bilingual in both English and Spanish offering the Woodland Hill Center a diverse opportunity for Spanish speaking residents and families. He has a caring bedside manner and is safety conscious during the pandemic by offering one-on-one education with staff, family members and residents. Dr. Blass is excited to work with Woodland Hill Center and their dynamic leadership team. Dr. Blass is so thankful to have the opportunity to make a difference each and every day, by providing the highest quality medical care, to our residents. In light of the potential harm the pandemic poses for nursing home residents in particular, Dr. Blass is vigilant in ensuring the safety and health of Genesis Healthcare’s patients. Tessa Sexton
Admissions DirectorTessa graduated from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia with a Regents of Bachelor of Arts Degree. She also obtained an associate’s degree in Health Information Technology from MountWest Technical College prior to attending Marshall University. Tessa has worked in hospitals and Skilled nursing facilities over the last 24 years throughout Ohio, West Virginia and the latest journey in North Carolina. I am looking forward to the next step in my career being a part of Genesis Healthcare.

Theresa Fisher
Director of RehabilitationTheresa has been a Speech Language Pathologist since 2009. She is a graduate of University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. Theresa was promoted to Director of Rehab in 2011. She has worked throughout Ohio & North Carolina covering all levels of care for the geriatric population.
