Jennifer Shaw, LNHA, MS, LSW
AdministratorJenna found her passion for working with the geriatric population, their families, and the staff who take care of them while working in Adult Day Health Care centers as Program Director and Social Worker. This led her to pursue and successfully earn a master’s degree in the Management of Aging Services. Her growing passion, competence, and experience expanded in her role as Director of Social Services. Here she gained direct experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility and completed her Administrator in Training Program. Jenna is delighted to join the Genesis team as Administrator and to serve the community at Sutton Hill Center with compassion, skill, and care.

Dr. Amanda Hernandez
Medical DirectorDr. Hernandez is a graduate of University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Manila, Philippines. She trained at Massachusetts General Hospital in Geriatrics and has completed the Certification in Medical Direction by the AMDA/Society for Post Acute and Long Term Care Medicine. Dr. Hernandez has served as both Medical Director and Attending Physician in multiple clinical settings in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and at present is working with Vantage Healthcare providing Primary Care to her patients at Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing Facilities. Dr. Hernandez has long been fascinated by the art of caring for the older patient. Adults above the age of 65 are the most frequent utilizers of health care resources. Frailty and multiple comorbidity in these patients make their care complex and drive up health care costs. Of great interest to Dr. Hernandez are current advances in the multidisciplinary approach to patient care, as is the creation of protocols that can improve in-hospital care as well as care transitions for this complex patient population.

Salute to Nurses Letters: Hospitals S-W
By Boston.com for Salute to Nurses 2019:
I salute Kirsten for her compassion, respect, professionalism, patience, and kindness to my 92-year-old father. She has been caring for him in this nursing home since my mother passed away a year ago. I cannot even find words for how amazing Kirsten is. Consistently patient and kind, she always listens to my concerns and acts quickly to ensure that my dad is well taken care of. I also love watching her with all of the other elderly patients—the respect and compassion that she shows to each of them is so overwhelming it has actually brought tears to my eyes.
As a nurse myself, I understand how difficult it can be to give our patients the very best care, and I often find Kirsten going that extra step. She sits with my dad and her other patients and respects their feelings, a remarkable trait for a younger nurse. Thank you, Kirsten, for all that you do.
