COVID-19 Second Booster Dose
The CDC recently released a recommendation for a second COVID-19 booster dose for certain persons. Specifically, a second mRNA booster dose could benefit people ages 50 years and older, as they are at increased risk for severe COVID-19. People ages 50 years and older may choose to receive a second booster dose, if it has been at least 4 months after the first booster. We recommend that appropriate residents receive their second booster dose. The COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer or Moderna) are available. Please let your physician or nurse know right away if you or your loved one would like to receive the second booster.

Clean & Friendly
"I had many other rehabilitations to choose from, but St. Joseph's Center was always my first choice. There is a feeling of community and family here. The facility is clean and the staff are very friendly. The chapel is inviting and I enjoyed the beautiful grounds outside. I am going home tomorrow, but I will miss the wonderful rehabilitation and nursing care."
Exceptional People
"There are some exceptional people that work here. The care I am receiving from the nurses and aids are very good. Although this was not my first choice nursing facility because of location, I and very happy I came."
Rehabilitation was Great
"Rehabilitation was great and I am happy to be going home after 10 days. I am looking forward to getting my life back."
Lots of family Zoom call feedback
“I attended zoom calls with my mom and the staff zoom call for updates. It helps me to feel not so far away from mom and I appreciate the updates very much. My Mom looks forward to our calls and outside visits and tells the staff that all the time. “
“I appreciate the zoom calls and just being able to see my grandmother on a weekly bases talking to her and finding out what is going. I love how this was set up to remind my love one (grandmother) that she is not alone and we are still with her through all of this pandemic.”
“Every time I see or talk to my grandmother she would tell me by name of the nurses who she loves and have been taking care of her. The best thing is that although she has the early stages of dementia, she remembers names of nurses and always makes sure she lets us know who takes care of her constantly checking on her. I love how we were able to bring her things once the outdoor visits opened up as well. Amanda, Catherine and all other staff have been very helpful during this difficult time.”
“During a zoom call visit, It was great just to see that my mom was doing well. Noel was always helping us and setting good times. She was a god send. Thank you for making the effort!”
“I used the Zoom call for both the Zoom Covid updates as well as the Personal Zoom visits with my mother. I appreciated the Zoom calls because it gave me personal time with her when i could not be there.”
“Just knowing how “on top” of everything the staff at St. Joseph’s is, I was truly impressed. I always knew I could call the nurse’s station for a personal update on the person I care for, and I always received an immediate response.”
“I found the Zoom family updates to be very helpful in keeping me informed. They add a personal touch to your message and I prefer it over an email. Marian G. and staff did a nice job on the calls of keeping us all updated. I really liked when Dr. Gupta came on and gave his detailed explanations of the COVID situation. “
“Roseanne Chiuli, nurse manager on floor #5A was very helpful with my Aunt. Roseanne went above and beyond her job.”
“I have had several video chats with my dad and it's great to be able to see each other even if it's not in person. The entire staff at St. Joe's is doing a terrific job and I thank each and everyone of them.”
“I really appreciate the Zoom calls, I was able to see my mother and talk to her. It was the best thing next to being able to see her in person”
“I would say overall the staff did a wonderful job in such difficult time.”
“I have been attending the weekly Zoom meetings with the staff of St. Joseph's since they first began. When the family Zoom meetings were offered myself and my family members all took advantage of being able to see our resident family member "face to face." and we were able to laugh together & see each other's. I truly feel the Zoom family meeting helped all of us.”
“Because we live out-of-state, I counted on my local family members having their face to face visits and being able to tell me their impressions. The staff of St. Joseph's made themselves available any time I called with my concerns.”
“I am thousands of miles away from my resident family member and I have no trouble sleeping. I have no worries about their care. Every staff member we have been in contact with has been a caring and nurturing person.”
“I really appreciate being able to see my parents. You are all doing a wonderful job”
“ All of the Zoom calls were great. The one-on-one calls with my mom were wonderful as it was so difficult for us to not be able to see her. Prior to Covid-19 I was there several times a week and had dinner with her a lot. Just being able to see her (she was happy all the time) was so reassuring.”
“The group Zoom meetings were very informative. I really enjoyed when Dr. Gupta participated. He always shared excellent information about Covid as it related to the residents.”
“ The personal Zoom calls always put my mind at ease. My mom was always very happy, smiling and upbeat. I could tell she was getting great care. I always felt a great sense of reassurance after the calls (even though I really missed seeing her in person and not being able to give her a big hug).”
“I utilized the Zoom Covid Updates and they helped keep me abreast of the current situation and gave me a chance to ask questions and make requests regarding my brother. “
“The zoom calls between residents and family members and the zoom calls with St. Joe's updates have been invaluable. During these difficult times, St. Joe's has done a fantastic job of keeping family members informed. They were frequent and timely when Covid was new, and all of us were wondering what was going on.”
“The staff members are so cheerful and helpful. Every zoom call with the staff has been positive. Staff always encourages family members to reach out to them individually, and I can honestly say that my phone calls have always been returned in a timely manner.”
“I live in California, so these phone calls have meant the world to me. Morgan in Recreation sets up a family zoom call every Sunday. She is never late. She knows all the players, and truly, the calls would not go as well without her. Noel is wonderful too.”
“All of the people I have interacted with at St. Joe's have been caring and compassionate. Marian does a great job on the now weekly phone calls. Linda is marvelous. Melissa is great at arranging the weekly zoom calls. Although I have not been able to attend any of the outdoor visits, Amanda is marvelous at making them happen. All the family members have been very impressed, including the grandson, who said it was "awesome."
“Many thanks to Michelle on the 4th floor for the updates in the slightest change in condition of my Aunt. Thanks to Victoria as well. In summary, there are not enough good words to say about St. Joseph's. They have been on the front lines, and they truly are "essential" to the care and emotional health of the residents. I have been SO impressed with the caliber of the staff. If anyone is considering St. Joseph's for themselves or their loved family member, rest assured. Their care is of the utmost importance to the people at St. Joe's. “
“Thank you all so very much, and may God bless each and every one of you.”
