Becky Singleton
AdministratorBecky has worked in long term care since 1996. She started in the medical records department in a large building in California and quickly worked her way up through that department. She had no intentions when she started there, to work in long term care, it was a job to help pay her way through part time school, but she fell in love with the environment and the people she was able to meet and help. She met and married her husband in 2000 and he supported her through her earning her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and then through the Administrator in training process. They have three kids and love living in the country with all kinds of animals and creatures to love and enjoy. She has worked as an Administrator in California since 2009 and joined the Genesis team in May of 2020 and is now in Silver City doing what she loves to do.
Melanie Smith
Director of NursingMelanie Smith is a wife and mother of 4 daughters; all grown and living around the country and enjoying life. She is excited to be in Silver City and looking forward to exploring the area and getting to know the community. Melanie has been a nurse for 27 years with Director of Nursing experience since 2010 in the long term care environment. Melanie comes to us from Montana after working in a Genesis facility in Great Falls and then as a Regional Director of Clinical Services for 7 facilities nationwide. She started her career in hemodialysis in an outpatient facility and has worked in many different fields including acute care, case management, MDS, and long term care. She is also a Certified Bariatric and Orthopedic nurse and is currently working on certification for Geriatrics and Director of Nursing. Melanie enjoys working in long term care and getting to know the residents and their families.
Michelle Vasquez
Director of Marketing & AdmissionsMichelle has worked in the healthcare industry for 13 years. She began her career while working with a non-profit organization in developmental disabilities. She graduated from Western New Mexico University with a bachelor's in business. Michelle's passion for helping others and delivering a high quality of life to those she serves brings her great joy. She is dedicated to helping families make a smooth transition when finding short-term rehab or long-term skilled nursing to care for your loved ones’ needs.
Faith Varela, OTR/L
Director of RehabilitationFaith Varela, OTR/L, has connections with the community and has been at Silver City Care Center since 2005, first as a COTA, within two years she was promoted to Director of Rehab in 2007. During her employment she pursed and achieved her Occupational Therapist Master Degree in 2011. Faith enjoys directing the Rehab program due to working with the professional and awesome team members and best of all the Residents and community. Our goal is ensuring that the highest standard of care is delivered and maintained, to achieve the patients/Residents optimal level of function, improve Independence and quality of life and to re integrate back into the community. It is a joy to come to work each day and have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others.
They always found time for me.
From the time I entered this care facility, the service from the staff has been outstanding. I realized as I constantly availed myself of their services, that there were a large number of patients interned here but it never seemed to matter. They always found time for me. The nurses were fantastic. The first one I met was so good! This center is lucky to have him. Physical therapy, run by Faith V., was equally amazing. The workouts always seemed to fit my condition at the given time - John, Gabe, Holly, Albert and the recently arrived Min and of course, Faith, all were excellent. I entered this facility with some trepidation but was more than pleasantly surprised. I leave actually wishing I had more time here.
