COVID-19 Second Booster Dose
The CDC recently released a recommendation for a second COVID-19 booster dose for certain persons. Specifically, a second mRNA booster dose could benefit people ages 50 years and older, as they are at increased risk for severe COVID-19. People ages 50 years and older may choose to receive a second booster dose, if it has been at least 4 months after the first booster. We recommend that appropriate residents receive their second booster dose. The COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer or Moderna) are available. Please let your physician or nurse know right away if you or your loved one would like to receive the second booster.

Jamie got to go home!
Jamie came into our facility in December of 2018 for rehab after an amputation and was planning to go back home afterwards, but life took some turns while she was here that kept her at the facility until this week, when she was discharged with Take me home WV.
Jamie said she cannot say enough about the help, support and care that she received at the Pierpont center. Jamie wanted to give a special shout out to some special employees who really touched her heart: Logan, who is a night shift nurse who always took good care of her and kept an eye out for her... 'He is a son from another mother' she said. She said that Jamie, Amber and all the wonderful nurses always looked out for her and work so hard. She said Nancy has become her best friend and loves on her every time she sees her. She said Therapy have done such an amazing job getting her strong enough to be able to go home. Mo in activities she said 'makes this place so welcoming, that she cares so much about the residents and was always looking out for her'.
She said no words could express my gratitude for all the care she has received in the nearly 2 years she lived with us. Moving forward she is really looking forward to hugging her family, living on her own, getting into a greenhouse, playing bingo, doing some outdoor activities and learning to go bowling in her wheelchair! We will miss you Jamie, but we are SO HAPPY that you get to go home and be with your family.
A loving testimony of the care we offer
”I have been patient here for 4 months. When I first came into the building I was in a lot of pain, shock and uncertainty of what to expect, knowing I had a lot of work ahead of me to survive and heal. All I can say is my care has been the best from my CNAs, the Physical Therapists and the Occupational Therapists. They have been the back bone of my rehab. Waneta, the wound nurse has taken such amazing care of me, helping me heal when I didn’t think it was possible. The nursing staff are on top of all my medical conditions from meds to my body care. Housekeeping came in every day and cleaned my room with a friendly smile and a kind voice. The kitchen staff provided awesome meals 3x a day. Genesis is a big company, but here at Pierpont you are treated so well and as an individual. My roommates were my ‘story telling friends’. Management were amazing, they were there whenever a problem would come up and they took care of it right away. So I would like to thank the Pierpont Center for the love and care they have given me. I now have a new family with Genesis that I will remember forever. Love to each and every one of you who has touched my life, my time is winding down with you. Today I get to go home, something I never thought would happen. You will not be forgotten in my lifetime."
