Town of Hampton Shows Outpouring Of Holiday Spirit Honoring Veterans

For Immediate Release

Hampton – Dec. 7, 2019  The Town of Hampton proved their veterans will not be forgotten this holiday season.  What started as a Flag Raising Ceremony in remembrance of Pearl Harbor quickly grew into an outpouring of recognition and respect as a number of parade participants stopped along the parade route to salute and shake hands with the veterans at Partridge House, an assisted living community managed by Genesis HealthCare.  “Sometimes we ignore all of those folks that made us free today, so it gives me great privilege to honor the veterans at The Partridge House” said John Nyhan, Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce President, during his introduction speech at The Partridge House’s Flag Raising Ceremony earlier Saturday morning.

Mr. Nyhan certainly made good on his word.  After John spread the news throughout the day at The Hampton Christmas Parade asking participants for a show respect, dozens of people including, Governor Chris Sununu and Senator Tom Sherman, stopped to formally acknowledge the veterans watching the parade at The Partridge House. Sarah Kearney, Marketing Director for Partridge House and Oceanside Center in Hampton, says “sometimes seniors who move into assisted living facilities feel that they’ve lost contact with their community, especially during the holidays. We’re so grateful to The Town of Hampton for proving this isn’t the case here.”

While some residents opted to watch the parade from inside due to the chilly temperature, the support was not lost on them, as they too were moved by the thoughtfulness shown by The Town of Hampton.

Partridge House, located at 777 Lafayette Road, is Hampton’s most established assisted living facility, boasting the most experienced care staff in the region.
