Local Business Owner Shows Hampton Seniors the Spirit of Giving!

Hampton – Dec. 20, 2019 When Oceanside Center’s Recreation Director, Maria Boudreau, was writing the annual “Christmas Wish List” for the residents at Oceanside Center, A Genesis HealthCare skilled nursing facility, she did not expect Ute Pineo, the owner of Al Gauron Luncheonette, to personally grant each and every wish.

“Ute walked in with over one hundred beautifully wrapped presents,” explains Boudreau “the gifts ranged from slippers to coats and sweaters – she even made sure she got all the right colors and sizes.”

Shaun Qualter, Regional Director for Genesis HealthCare, says Pineo’s donation not only helped the residents at Oceanside Center but the employees as well. “Typically we all chip in using our personal funds to grant the Christmas wishes for the residents here. Ute’s generosity means so much to those who dedicate their days and nights caring for others.”

Pineo is no stranger to giving. In 2018 Ute was recognized as “Citizen of the Year” by The Hampton Rotary Club for her charitable donations not just locally but all over the country, including giving to members of the armed forces serving abroad. Located on Hampton Harbor at 1 Ocean Boulevard, Al Gauron Luncheonette has been a Hampton staple for over 40 years.

Hampton Town Selectman Rusty Bridle, known this time of year simply as Santa Claus, says Ute doesn’t wait until Christmas to show her spirit of giving “she does this for people all year and goes out of her way to help those in need.”
The holiday season can be a difficult time for those living in assisted living or skilled nursing facilities. Oceanside Center’s recreation team prides itself on making community connections whenever possible with a full schedule of outings and social engagements. “Ute’s donation shows us we’re on the right track in making sure the residents here at Oceanside know the Hampton community is still looking out for them” states Boudreau.

As Hampton’s most established skilled nursing facility Oceanside Center, located at 22 Tuck Road offers transitional care, long-term care and a secured dementia unit.
