Merry Wood Lodge is a 113-bed skilled nursing center providing rehabilitative care, dementia care, and long-term care to the River Region of central Alabama since 1964. A significant program feature is the Solana Alzheimer's Care Center, which provides resident-centered care for persons with Alzheimer's Disease and other cognitive impairments. Located off Alabama Highway 143-East in Elmore County, Merry Wood is a short interstate drive from Montgomery, the State Capitol.

Larry Huffman
AdministratorLarry is a native of Utah. He became a licensed Administrator in 2004, and came to Merry Wood Lodge in 2020. Larry is a graduate of Weber State University in Utah, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Services Administration with a long-term care emphasis. In 2015, Larry graduated from Walden University with a degree of Master of Healthcare Administration. Larry and his wife, Cindy, are the parents of six children.

Director of NursingEdna is the Director of Nursing at Merry Wood Lodge.
Denise Allen
Admissions DirectorDenise is a native of New York and started her career in Nursing in 1995 . Denise started her role as Director of Admissions at Merry Wood Lodge in February 2017 and loves her daily interactions with the residents and families.
Alesha Cooke
Director of RehabilitationAlesha is a Speech/Language Pathologist. She has worked at Merry Wood Lodge since May 2014. Alesha attended Auburn University Montgomery as an undergraduate. She later achieved her Master's degree in Communicative Disorders from Jackson State University. Alesha enjoys working with patients and seeing positive outcomes.
Joanna Burkett
Social ServicesJoanna graduated from Troy University in 1994 and has worked with us in Social Services for the last 10 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Danny, and two daughters, Brooke and Taylor. She loves all sports and is an avid Alabama Roll Tide fan. She loves working with her residents and is always up for a good challenge.
