Dear Patients, Residents and Families
COVID Booster Shots
Hard to believe we are already half way through the summer! In preparation for the fall COVID and Flu season and with the new COVID BA.5 variant circulating, we are recommending all nursing home and assisted living residents receive their COVID booster and Flu shots. Centers will provide access to Flu shots in September and boosters are available now.

Dr. CadiganMedical Director
Dr. Cadigan got her inspiration to be a doctor while working as a spinal cord trauma nurse. She completed her medical education at Northwestern University and her residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, after which she spent a fellowship year at Johns Hopkins which jump started her love of the medically complex. She worked in a clinical practice for 18 years and also worked in medical education where she helped to establish the MMC-Tufts Medical School program. After a time she moved back to Chicago to be with her Dad until his death. Dr. Cadigan has a love of skilled nursing, and when given the opportunity, returned to her "heart home", Maine. This move also allowed her to be closer to her children. Her role at Genesis combines her love of rural Maine, care of skilled and long term care patients, and an important leadership position in which she hopes to make a positive and sustaining impact. In light of the potential harm the pandemic poses for nursing home residents in particular, Dr. Cadigan is vigilant in ensuring the safety and health of Genesis Healthcare’s patients. She stands behind the initiatives and processes Genesis has put in place and says, Safety is our top priority!
