Nancy “Jane” Hanson
AdministratorJane grew up in Rockland, graduated from the University of Maine, married and moved to Rockport for 27 years. After a 25 year banking career, she and her retired husband moved to a farmhouse in Caribou with its wide open spaces and big skies. Her focus on our older population has brought Jane back to the mid-coast to a position in nursing home administration. Jane is happy to be back near the ocean, but still enjoys her farmhouse and potato fields on the weekends.

Laurie Yntema, MD
Medical DirectorDr. Yntema earned her medical degree at the University of Vermont. She completed her residency in Internal medicine at Maine Medical Center in Portland ME and then proceeded to a 17-year stint as a primary care doctor at Ellsworth Internal Medicine. During those years she worked a couple days each month in the local nursing facilities attending her own patients and patients of her colleagues as well as a week a month at Maine Coast Hospital. After 15 years, she became Medical Director at two local facilities due to other local physicians retirement or lack of interest. From the start, she found particular satisfaction in the provision of care to these populations. it laid the groundwork for her decision to transition to full time work at Community Care and Geriatrics of PCHC. Though she still misses the continuity of care afforded by her early years in medical practice, Dr. Yntema truly enjoys her current job. She lives in East Blue Hill with her husband, twin sons who are almost 18, two dogs, three cats, and innumerable bird feeders.

She began working part time for Genesis as the Social Service Assistant at Windward Gardens in 2015. In 2018, she accepted the position of Director of Social Services at Harbor Hill. The following year Karin moved into the role of Director of Admissions and Marketing where she enjoys being a liaison between her community and the Genesis Harbor Hill campus.

Excellent
Harbor Hill has been very, very helpful. The meals... we eat all the time. They have the greatest cook here - better than a restaurant. The nurses, all the people around here, are so helpful... very polite. The rehab department is right after you - works you a lot. Way about excellent!
