Dear Patients, Residents and Families
Open to Visitors with Precautions
With few limitations, visitation is now allowed for all residents at all times, while continuing to follow all Core Principles of COVID-19 infection prevention (CMS QSO-20-39-NH REVISED). Outdoor visitation is still preferred where possible, even in lower risk community conditions and even when residents and visitors are fully vaccinated* against COVID-19, because it generally poses the lowest risk of transmission due to space and air flow. Virtual visits using technology (e.g., iPad) are also available to all residents.read more

Laurie Yntema, MDMedical Director
Dr. Yntema earned her medical degree at the University of Vermont. She completed her residency in Internal medicine at Maine Medical Center in Portland ME and then proceeded to a 17-year stint as a primary care doctor at Ellsworth Internal Medicine. During those years she worked a couple days each month in the local nursing facilities attending her own patients and patients of her colleagues as well as a week a month at Maine Coast Hospital. After 15 years, she became Medical Director at two local facilities due to other local physicians retirement or lack of interest. From the start, she found particular satisfaction in the provision of care to these populations. it laid the groundwork for her decision to transition to full time work at Community Care and Geriatrics of PCHC. Though she still misses the continuity of care afforded by her early years in medical practice, Dr. Yntema truly enjoys her current job. She lives in East Blue Hill with her husband, twin sons who are almost 18, two dogs, three cats, and innumerable bird feeders.

In 2015, Erica graduated from Western Governors' University with a Master's in Nursing Administration and Leadership. Her first job with Genesis was 2017 as a Clinical Reimbursement Manager. Over time, she decided to try something new and worked as a Director of Nursing in adolescent psychiatric care for two years before traveling as an Interim Director of Nursing for several different facilities. In 2021, the opportunity to work in her hometown for Genesis as the Harbor Hill CNE opened up and she was elated. Erica lives in Montville with her husband and children, enjoying all the adventures that Maine has to offer.
Karin Stupca, LSWDirector of Admissions and Marketing

After many years of following her Coast Guard husband around the country from Alaska to Virginia, the family settled in Maine in 2001. She returned to Social Work in 2013 when her four children were older. Karin’s background includes work with intellectual disabilities, mental health case management, crisis pregnancies and older adults. She began working part time for Genesis as the Social Service Assistant at Windward Gardens in 2015. In 2018, she accepted the position of Director of Social Services at Harbor Hill. The following year Karin moved into the role of Director of Admissions and Marketing where she enjoys being a liaison between her community and the Genesis Harbor Hill campus.

- Judy C., daughter of ALF resident
Harbor Hill has been very, very helpful. The meals... we eat all the time. They have the greatest cook here - better than a restaurant. The nurses, all the people around here, are so helpful... very polite. The rehab department is right after you - works you a lot. Way about excellent!
