Dear Patients, Residents and Families

COVID-19 Second Booster Dose
The CDC recently released a recommendation for a second COVID-19 booster dose for certain persons. Specifically, a second mRNA booster dose could benefit people ages 50 years and older, as they are at increased risk for severe COVID-19. People ages 50 years and older may choose to receive a second booster dose, if it has been at least 4 months after the first booster. We recommend that appropriate residents receive their second booster dose. The COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer or Moderna) are available. Please let your physician or nurse know right away if you or your loved one would like to receive the second booster.

Proudly serving our local community since 1998, The Village at Northrise is a 16 acre continuing care campus for seniors with majestic views of the Organ Mountains. The Village at Northrise offers independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and memory support services. Located on the Village at Northrise campus, Desert Willow II is branded by Genesis Healthcare as an Enhanced Memory Support program for residents with Alzheimer's or dementia. One of the features of an Enhanced Memory Support program is a 1:8 ratio of direct caregivers to residents. Another important feature of an Enhanced Memory Support program is a dedicated Program Director. Our Program Director, Bonnie Zeiler, is a Certified Dementia Practitioner that has won awards locally, regionally and nationally. Desert Willow II is licensed by the state as an Assisted Living facility and provides services to 24 residents in private and semi-private accommodations. Dementia Care Education by Genesis HealthCare is recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association® for incorporating evidence-based Dementia Care Practice Recommendations in the following topic areas: Alzheimer’s and dementia, person-centered care, assessment and care planning, activities of daily living, and behaviors and communication. All direct care staff working at Desert Willow II participate in specialized training. One of the unique features of our memory support program is a nurse on site eight hours a day, seven days a week. A dedicated recreation team provides leisure and therapeutic activities for the enjoyment and benefit of the residents seven days a week.

Our respite program offers the flexibility for Caregivers to take a much-needed break from the demands of daily life, while providing an opportunity for your loved one to socialize with an array of activities in a safe, supportive, welcoming environment.
