As communities start to loosen COVID-19 restrictions, we wanted to share an update on visitation guidelines. Genesis-affiliated centers are currently offering indoor visitation for all residents (regardless of vaccination status), with the exception of the three scenarios listed below. CMS, the federal agency that regulates nursing centers, has updated its visitation guidance due to high resident vaccination rates and a drop in COVID-19 cases around the country. read more
Valley Center is a skilled nursing facility offering post-hospital, short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term and respite care services. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurances. Valley Center is an AHCA Quality Award winner!

James McburneyCenter Executive Director
James is a native of the Kanawha Valley where he attended George Washington. James graduated from WVU with a Bachelor in Science Magna Cum Laude and a Master’s in Public Administration with a focus in Healthcare Administration. James also completed Nursing Home Administration core curriculum at Slippery Rock University. James has worked for Genesis for nearly 8 year cumulatively and has served as the Center Executive Director for Hilltop, Teays Valley, and Dunbar Centers. James and his family are residents of South Charleston and are avid Mountaineers! His focus as a center leader is on Quality Improvement and Quality 5 Star outcomes through developing the centers Excellence Committees and systematic process improvement.
Dr. John NevilleMedical Director
Dr. Neville is WV Native and still holds to his roots practicing medicine in Charleston, WV and the surrounding areas. Dr. Neville is a ’93 Graduate from Marshall University, School of Medicine. Following med school Dr. Neville completed his residency with Charleston Area Medical Center from 1993-1996. He practices primary care with Dunbar Medical associates and became a Medical Director for Genesis Health Care in July 2013.
Danielle Raines, FNPNurse Practitioner
Danielle attended WVU Institute of Technology in Montgomery, WV where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2003. Danielle worked as a RN for 15 years at CAMC General; while she completed her, Masters of Science degree from Marshall University in 2017. Danielle is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner by American Association of Nurse Practitioners and licensed in West Virginia. She joined our Genesis Physician Services family over 3 years ago.
Whitney KiserDirector of Marketing and Admissions
Whitney rejoins our Genesis Healthcare family as the Director of Marketing and Admissions at Valley Center, with an extensive background in long term and acute care she is ready to help the community with all their short term and long term care needs. She is a graduate of West Virginia State University where she obtained her Business Administration degree.
Sarah CochranDirector of Rehabilitation
Sarah has been with Genesis since June 2018. Sarah's commitment to building a strong therapy team and having positive outcomes for our residents/patients, makes her a valuable asset to our center.
