Cottage of the Shoals is a 103-bed skilled nursing facility offering post-hospital, short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term and respite care services. We also have a specialized transitional care unit, which specializes in post-hospital rehabilitation. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurances. Cheryl Baker
AdministratorCheryl has been the administrator of our center since 1998. She has 25-years of rehabilitation, acute and long-term care experience. Cheryl also has experience as a Regional Vice President of Operations for six centers. Cheryl attended both local colleges Shoals Community and the University of North Alabama.

Dr. Christine Davis, M.D.
Medical DirectorDr. Christine Davis, M.D. graduated from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. She has worked in the Rehabilitation and Long Term Care setting for 15 years. She has been with Genesis Healthcare for 6 years. Dr. Davis has been the medical director of Cottage of the Shoals since 2018. She is very proud to serve as your physician and oversee all of your medical needs while you are receiving care at Cottage of the Shoals.

Director of NursingChristi Spencer is the Director of Nursing at Cottage of the Shoals.

Stacey Norton
Assistant Director of NursingStacey started her career in healthcare as a CNA in LTC back in 1992. Stacey graduated from Northwest Shoals with a degree in Applied Science-Registered Nursing in 2004. Prior to Stacey coming to work for Genesis Healthcare she worked in Home Health for over 10 years! Stacey started her career with Genesis Healthcare in 2011 and has filled many roles such as Charge Nurse, Admissions Nurse, and is now the Assistant Director of Nursing. Stacey is passionate about providing the best care possible to her patients and residents by utilizing the interdisciplinary team to treat a person as a whole.

Director of Marketing and AdmissionsJames is the Director of Marketing and Admissions at Cottage of the Shoals.

James Davis
Rehabilitation Program DirectorJames has worked for Genesis Healthcare as a licensed physical therapist assistant for 10 years and has been the therapy manager at Cottage of the Shoals since October 2013. James works with patients, residents and their families to improve their physical functioning through provision of Occupational, Speech and Physical Therapy services. He received his education and license as a physical therapy assistant in 2009 from Wallace State University. When asked about his job James stated, “As the Director of Therapy Services here at Keller Landing, I have the privilege of seeing our patient’s extraordinary outcomes first-hand.”
