Meghan Welch

Meghan attended the University of Southern Maine where she graduated with her Bachelor’s in Social Work, with a minor in Human Development and Family Relations. She is a licensed Multi-Level Nursing Home Administrator who brings more than 10 years of experience working in long-term care to RiverRidge. Prior to obtaining her MLA license, she was previously in the role of Admission & Marketing Director in many Southern Maine Genesis-affiliated facilities, to include RiverRidge. Meghan began her MLA career at Genesis HealthCare, Marshwood Center and worked there for a year prior to accepting the opportunity to return to the RiverRidge team. Meghan has a passion for working in neurorehabilitation and prides herself for having proficient communication, customer service and organizational skills.

Dr. Stephen Doane

Dr. Doane received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968 From Northwestern University. He earned his Medical Doctor degree in 1973 from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, where he also enjoyed working as the Clinical Instructor in the anatomy lab. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 1976. While there he gained experience as the Director of the Student and Employee Health Clinic. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Doane joined Genesis Physician Services at the RiverRidge Center as the Medical Director in 2010 while maintaining his Internal Medicine practice in Biddeford. He went on to serve as the Medical Director at several Genesis facilities over the years and is thrilled to serve on the RiverRidge Team. Dr. Doane developed a passion for medicine when in middle school, at which time his pediatrician set an example by treating him compassionately and curing his severe asthma with a series of desensitizing shots. Dr. Doane truly values his relationships with patients and staff and believes strongly in the patient doctor bond.

Kelley Libby, RN

Kelley grew up in Shapleigh, Maine and attended Southern Maine Community College where she pursued her degree in nursing. Kelley has been a staple at RiverRidge since starting her career as a CNA in 2006. After working diligently, she obtained her nursing degree and license and became the charge nurse for our 24 resident long-term care unit. In 2020, she was again promoted to unit manager and we are now proud to announce that one of our own has assumed the role of Director of Nursing in 2022! We are lucky to have someone with such longevity joining our leadership team!

Cara Orton, Psy.D., CBIST

 Dr. Orton received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Quincy University in 2005. She completed her Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Neuropsychology from Forest Institute in 2011. Dr. Orton has completed clinical training in the areas of forensic, clinical, and psychiatric neuropsychology. She has also conducted research and presented in the areas of malingering and forensic neuropsychology, psychiatric neuropsychology, and neurorehabilitation. Dr. Orton completed her predoctoral internship at Riverview Psychiatric Center and completed a two year postdoctoral training program in neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation at RiverRidge Center. Dr. Orton has been a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Maine since 2014 and specializes in neurobehavioral and neurorehabilitative consultation, assessment, and treatment of acquired brain injury. She has been a member of the RiverRidge team since 2011 and was promoted to Director of Brain Injury Services in March 2018.

Natasha Jackson

Natasha has officially been a genesis employee since her transition from housekeeping in 2016 when she graduated from her Certified Nursing Assistant course. In 2017 she received her Med Tech certification and continued to work for River Ridge as a CNA-M Caring for all of our ABI/TBI patients until June 2022 when she accepted the position of Admissions assistant. September 2022 she accepted the Position as Admissions Director at the Pine Point center, And has now returned to River Ridge as our Admissions Director! With 7 years of ABI/TBI experience,  Natasha Genuinely cares for every person she interacts with. Whether that be Patients, Family members, or Co-workers! Outside of work Natasha has 2 sons, and loves to be outdoors with them. Fishing, Bike riding, or just playing Catch.

Khyati Patel

Khyati graduated from the University of JRN Vidyapeeth in India with a Bachelor Degree in Physical Therapy in 2008. Khyati joined the River Ridge team as a staff therapist and then as a Director of Rehabilitation for Genesis Rehab since 2021. Khyati served in multiple facilities nationwide with providing rehabilitation with area focus on general orthopedic, neurologic, cardiac, geriatric, pediatric, and post-operative impairments with implementing Evidence Based Practice throughout the continuum of care to increase quality of treatment and accountability. As the Director of Rehabilitation, Khyati is committed to leading her team to provide high-quality patient care with strong communication and problem-solving skills, and quickly adapting to changing environments. Khyati collaborated with physicians, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, nursing, social work, and neuropsychology in providing comprehensive rehabilitation services for adult and geriatric patients. Khyati participated in multidisciplinary rounds, patient/family conferences, and conducted family/caregiver education and training. Outside of work, Khyati has two daughters, and loves arts and crafts.
