Parkersburg Care Center is a 66-bed facility which offers short stay rehabilitation, long-term and respite services. We have 24 hour nursing services, wound care, IV therapy as well as physical, occupational and speech therapy. We accept VA contracts as well as Medicare, Medicaid, Private pay, managed Medicare plans and additional insurances.

Ashley Ince
Center Executive DirectorAshley is a Fayette County native and a graduate of West Virginia University Institute of Technology. Ashley is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in multiple states and a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She also owns a childcare center located in Dunbar, WV. She started working as an administrative assistant for a LTC company in 2008. This sparked her interest in skilled nursing and has since progressed through a variety of positions to working as a Nursing Home Administrator. Ashley has always taken pride in giving back to her community by volunteering for various organizations including The United Way, Meals on Wheels, and the Alzheimer’s Association. No matter which hat she's wearing, her goal is simple -- to be a positive influence in the lives of everyone she encounters. Ashley strives to work with her staff in order to ensure the finest care is provided to the residents of Parkersburg Care Center!

Kathleen Miller, RN
Center Nurse ExecutiveIn 2003 she began her healthcare journey as a CNA, she continued her education as an LPN Graduate from Wood County School of Practical Nursing in 2009, and then graduated with an Associates Degree in Health Sciences from West Virginia University of Parkersburg in 2014. Kathleen has dedicated the last 5 years of nursing to helping Genesis provide quality nursing to their residents. She has climbed the ladder from floor nurse to Unit Manager, Nurse Practice Educator, ADON, and an Infection Preventionist. She completed the Specialized Training in Infection Prevention in 2019 with Genesis. Kathleen has a passion for providing our residents with compassionate and quality care and providing a work environment that focuses on integrity and care for each other as well as our residents and their families. She enjoys spending time with her husband Lorren and their 7 children.

Amy Bortell
Director of Admissions & MarketingAmy has a B.S. in Mass Communication and lends 18 years of admissions experience to her role at Parkersburg Care Center. She has spent time in university admissions as well as in the long-term care setting and has a passion for working with families and their loved ones. She most recently worked with Genesis HealthCare in Ohio and is excited to extend her time with Genesis HealthCare on this side of the river. Amy enjoys making a positive impact on the residents and community surrounding the center.

Micki Townsend
Director of RehabilitationMicki is a native of Parkersburg and graduate from Concord University with a B.S of Athletic Training and Washington State Community College with an A.S of Physical Therapist Assistant. Micki has been working for Genesis since 2013. When Micki is not working she enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and going to the beach. Micki is dedicated to providing excellent care to the residents here at the Parkersburg Care Center.
