Thoughtful, encouraging staff
"When I first admitted to North Cape Center's transitional care unit, I was in bad shape. I couldn't walk and I could barely push myself up in bed. I had no strength at all and I was scared for my life. The therapists turned out to be GREAT and they did everything they could to make sure that I got my strength back during the time that I was in their care. In my case, they helped me to get an additional 10 days to make sure I had the extra time I needed to prepare to go home. Everyone I came in contact with was professional and kind. My nursing aides were always helpful and kept me updated. The food was good as well and they always made me feel special by bringing me a special cottage cheese platter just for me so that I could take it with my medication. During the times that we were encouraged to stay in our rooms for safety, they helped me stay entertained. I enjoyed the way that they kept bringing me hot tea or cocoa with the newspaper every morning. My room during my observational stay was incredible and in my second room I also had beautiful views all around. I will definitely recommend North Cape Center."

Great food and therapy
"I've been to North Cape Center before and I knew I'd be in good hands - even with the virus being out there. They did a good job explaining the process to me and why I was on special observation and both of my rooms were fine during my stay. They were always wearing all the proper uniforms with glasses and gowns and they did their best to communicate with me. It was a little hard at first, but they did a good job making sure they could be heard. The food was good too - I could never finish all that they gave me because I don't usually eat that much. The therapy was very good and they taught me things to help me be safe at home with my wife."

Everyone was caring and kind
Before I got here, I was having trouble because I wasn't eating well and I was falling a lot. I came here because I needed to learn how to walk again. The food ended up being pretty good, just needed to add a little pinch of salt but I know why they weren't giving me too much salt. Everyone was caring and kind. I was really nervous when I first got here and before I came in the doors I thought I wouldn't want to be here. The nurses did a good job at getting me settled and making me feel at home. They did a good job. Therapy helped me to get better, all of them were nice and I was surprised that I like working out! They would always find me ready and waiting for them because it was my routine. Now I'm excited to be getting home on the same day as my husband's birthday! We are married 64 years in November.

A wonderful job keeping us safe
"Therapy was a 10 out of 10! Steve was my favorite therapist and occupational therapy helped me to learn to use a fork and spoon again so that I can be able to go out to dinner again. You just can’t beat the therapy at North Cape. They also did a good job keeping us safe. Years ago I could’ve never imagined all of this and they are trying so hard to work with us. They’re doing a great job here. The cleaners are also very nice and verity particular. They do a wonderful job and are very good."
- Rose L.
Pleasant staff, thorough cleaning
"Everyone is so nice here. They help me with everything that I need and therapy is great too. I’m doing well in therapy and they are doing a lot to help me keep my spirits up during these times. The nurses and therapists and everybody are wearing all the things they should be and doing a good job with all of this. Housekeeping is very pleasant and they do a fabulous job keeping everything clean. Paul is one of the best nursing aides I’ve ever had, anywhere!"
- Helen M.
Excellent care
The care at North Cape Center was excellent. People here really care and go out of their way to be helpful. Therapy helped me get my strength back in my arms and legs and now I can get up by myself and go places. The place was clean and they gave me daily communications about what was going on with Covid-19. I felt safe and the center was terrific. I'd give it a 5 out of 5 stars. You really get the feeling that everyone is happy to work here and they don't mind doing little extra things because they're caring.
