COVID-19 Second Booster Dose
The CDC recently released a recommendation for a second COVID-19 booster dose for certain persons. Specifically, a second mRNA booster dose could benefit people ages 50 years and older, as they are at increased risk for severe COVID-19. People ages 50 years and older may choose to receive a second booster dose, if it has been at least 4 months after the first booster. We recommend that appropriate residents receive their second booster dose. The COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer or Moderna) are available. Please let your physician or nurse know right away if you or your loved one would like to receive the second booster.

Being here at La Estancia Nursing and Rehab gave me an opportunity to recover, with staff that are wonderful, caring and professional. Everyone greeted me with a smile. Professionalism and compassionate care
I have been hospitalized since March 2020. During these past years I have been in numerous hospitals and rehab facilities. I have received care from literally scores of healthcare professionals. Recently, I have been receiving care from a CNA named Jamie and I have been amazed by her. Her professionalism and compassionate care. She is the epitome of her medical profession. She should be recognized for her amazing care.
On my way to recovery
Unable to stand or walk, I was introduced to Evan and the wonderful Miss Rebecca in the therapy department. Once they helped me strengthen my legs to the point where I could stand, they helped me stand up for the first time in 45 days. Unfortunately I didn't listen to Evan and tried to walk that day as well, a feat I was not yet capable of, and I learned quickly that I needed to listen to the two professionals. In a relatively short time they had me standing up on my own and on my way to recovery (amazing!).
