Patient letter of gratitude
My family and I want to thank you –Doctors, nurses, nurse’s aides, therapists, kitchen helpers and other employees. I was so happy to start treatment with the staff. They were caring and very professional and I’ve come a long way in making it back to normal. I realize I have a long way to go. I’m getting back to my home at American House. Larger quarters and old friends, but I’ll never forget the kindness and care at Genesis and the many friends and excellent treatment we received there. I hope to get to visit and I know if extra help is needed you’ll help.
The therapists and their expertise worked a bit of a miracle in my physical health and mental health and although a tough job both my physical and mental attitude has improved greatly and it was a really tough trip but fun trying along the way. It affects the attitude of an individual that has problems and creates better results in this case.
Michael Johnson and staff have done a great job in the hiring of employees and have proven to be successful in their performances in making many resources for patients possible.
Just a small token of affection for your making it possible for many to achieve all their goals or being able to live a more productive life.
With much love and gratitude,
Milton R.
Staff is wonderful
My mom has lived here for 2 ½ years and been very happy. She is 102 years old. Staff is wonderful. They are there with smiles and work hard. The activities is most important in my mind. It keeps my mom happy and entertained. My mom always mentions how good the food is. Her laundry is done at the facility. When I leave after visiting I am comfortable leaving her knowing she is well taken care off.

Positive, helpful and encouraging
I had emergency surgery at Cheshire Medical Center on January 2, 2020 – bowel reconstruction surgery. I spent a week there and was released on January 8th to Genesis where I spent two weeks in Rehab.
I had a positive experience at Genesis: the nurses on the 2nd floor were very responsive to my needs; the Rehab Unit on the first floor really helped me to get “back on my feet”. The therapists were positive, helpful, encouraging. It was great to get out of my room twice a day to go downstairs, doing exercises to build up my muscles (especially my core muscles). I also enjoyed looking out the windows and seeing the birds outside and interacting with staff and other patients.
When it was time to go home, two of the therapists from the Center came and checked out my place to make sure it was a “safe” area and shared some good suggestions with my daughter and I.
I would recommend Genesis Court Street to others.
Sincerely,
Helen W.
Treated with Respect!
I wanted to take the opportunity to let you know about our families experience at Keene Center. Compliments come often few and far between due to the stress experienced when a loved one has health issues.
My father, Donald L., was admitted to Keene Center on February 11th for skilled services. From the time he admitted to his discharge, staff were attentive to him and he was treated with respect. He can sometimes be a handful, but the staff listened to him and were very caring. He commented often on how he also liked the food.
When his insurance decided to no longer authorize his care, I worked with Denis, Patty and Marilyn to file an appeal with the QIO (Kepro). Ultimately, they denied the appeal – no surprise there – and we brought our father home, which is where he preferred to be. As he was being discharged, he did say he would miss the food, the nurses, and the exercise people (therapists). Many of them came into the room to wish him well, then as we were walking out, in the lobby, there was a reception line of staff that applauded his release. It was a wonderful experience and very heart warming. The added thoughtfulness of recognizing him as a veteran with a card on his door and a plaque in the hall was a very nice touch.
I want to thank all the nurses, LNA’s, therapists, and everyone else that interacted with my father, and my mother, who visited him daily. I can’t say enough positive things about Keene Center. Staff and attitude can make or break the overall experience, even if the care is good. Because of the staff there, our overall experience was excellent.
Sincerely,
Tracie K.

Treated with dignity
Everybody has been very nice and special. They treat me like I am important. Staff is courteous and the facility does a marvelous job with what they have. I love how they treat the older people. They treat them with dignity. Physical and occupational therapy were excellent. They took into consideration your abilities, worked with what you have, and strived for better.

LONG TERM CARE REVIEW:
Everything has been great! We are really happy with the staff- they're all helpful from the first floor with reception and kitchen staff to the third floor nurses- KC staff work as a team! When I want to speak with staff, whether it's the nurses or even the center administrator, they always make themselves available!
- Rose P.
REHABILITATION REVIEW:
I really appreciate the way you all took care of me- the entire staff! I especially connected with Dylan, Corinne, Aryannah, and Thomas but there are so many more. Julie and the recreation staff were great- also, Sam from therapy was a huge help!

Next stop: HOME
My stay was excellent! I really liked the facilities. Everybody was nice- patients, staff, the whole 9 yards. The food was very good- they worked with me and my diet needs. I worked with Vik, Morgan, and the girls from OT everyday- and I'm ready to go home! My discharge was well planned and I was informed all throughout the process.
