Nancy “Jane” HansonAdministrator
Jane grew up in Rockland, graduated from the University of Maine, married and moved to Rockport for 27 years. After a 25 year banking career, she and her retired husband moved to a farmhouse in Caribou with its wide open spaces and big skies. Her focus on our older population has brought Jane back to the mid-coast to a position in nursing home administration. Jane is happy to be back near the ocean, but still enjoys her farmhouse and potato fields on the weekends.
Laurie Yntema, MDMedical Director
Dr. Yntema earned her medical degree at the University of Vermont. She completed her residency in Internal medicine at Maine Medical Center in Portland ME and then proceeded to a 17-year stint as a primary care doctor at Ellsworth Internal Medicine. During those years she worked a couple days each month in the local nursing facilities attending her own patients and patients of her colleagues as well as a week a month at Maine Coast Hospital. After 15 years, she became Medical Director at two local facilities due to other local physicians retirement or lack of interest. From the start, she found particular satisfaction in the provision of care to these populations. it laid the groundwork for her decision to transition to full time work at Community Care and Geriatrics of PCHC. Though she still misses the continuity of care afforded by her early years in medical practice, Dr. Yntema truly enjoys her current job. She lives in East Blue Hill with her husband, twin sons who are almost 18, two dogs, three cats, and innumerable bird feeders.
Kimberly Stone, RNDirector of Nursing
Kim recently joined the Harbor Hill team but has worked as a nurse in Belfast and the surrounding area for years, most recently with a hospice provider. Kim is one of eleven children - #6 if you are curious - and loves the excitement of being from a large family. She attended University of Maine, Augusta to complete her nursing education.
Karin Stupca, LSWDirector of Admissions and Marketing
Karin spent her childhood in Ohio and is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Social Work. After many years of following her Coast Guard husband around the country from Alaska to Virginia, the family settled in Maine in 2001. She returned to Social Work in 2013 when her four children were older. Karin’s background includes work with intellectual disabilities, mental health case management, crisis pregnancies and older adults. She began working part time for Genesis as the Social Service Assistant at Windward Gardens in 2015. In 2018, she accepted the position of Director of Social Services at Harbor Hill. The following year Karin moved into the role of Director of Admissions and Marketing where she enjoys being a liaison between her community and the Genesis Harbor Hill campus.
Thomas OrdeltDirector of Rehabilitation
Tom has been providing physical therapy with Genesis/Powerback Rehabilitation since 2017. He is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, and holds Master’s Degrees in Engineering and Kinesiology. A native of Germany, Tom moved to the US in 1995. During his off-hours, Tom enjoys time with his family and skiing.
Naomi GoodwinResident Care Director
Naomi joined the Harbor Hill Assisted Living team as a CNA six years ago. In 2020, she accepted the role of RCD. Naomi is enrolled at EMCC working toward becoming a registered nurse. When she is home with her family she enjoys time with them, cooking, baking, and taking road trips. In 2019. Naomi was our Compassionate Caregiver of the Year. She believes that every resident deserves to be treated with empathy, dignity and respect.
"I would say Harbor Hill is the perfect place if you like peace and serenity. The water and the scenery are perfect. I love the staff, they are so sweet and it's always neat and clean. You can walk outside on the paths to see the flowers and gardens, it's so beautiful here."
Life is good
I have a really good life here.
Dear L & J (assisted living staff members), Thank you so very much for bringing PM to my father's service. My father would have been really pleased to see the three of you there! I was so unbelievably happy to see you come in. Thank you so much. God bless.
I'm very comfortable in here. I like my room. I like the people and activities.
Helpful Zoom calls and emails
Thank you so much for sending this [Covid19 Family Call/Email summary]! I hate to miss the calls, they are so very helpful!
- Judy C., daughter of ALF resident
Harbor Hill has been very, very helpful. The meals... we eat all the time. They have the greatest cook here - better than a restaurant. The nurses, all the people around here, are so helpful... very polite. The rehab department is right after you - works you a lot. Way about excellent!
- Arthur C.
Caring and professional
Very caring, professional people. I am very happy here. I am content.
