Fairland Center is located in Silver Spring, Maryland and we are conveniently located to serve Montgomery, Howard, and Prince Georges Counties as well as Washington, DC. We are well known in the community for the many different services we offer. We are the only facility in Montgomery County that offers full respiratory services including ventilation support, new trach care, and other serious respiratory diseases. We are also well known for our excellent rehabilitation services. We offer both private and semi-private rooms. Cable television is provided and all of our patient rooms are equipped with a full bathroom.

Richard Ludlow
Center Executive DirectorRichard has recently been appointed as the Center Executive Director at Fairland Center. With over 35 years of experience in the long-term care field, his career ranges from being an Administrative Resident in a 725-bed chronic disease hospital in Boston, Massachusetts to serving as the Administrator of a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Washington, DC, with over 300 residents. Richard received his Bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and his Master’s in Health Services Administration, with a concentration in Long-Term Care Management, from The George Washington University. His foremost objective has always been to serve as an instrument of change to enhance the care and services provided to seniors.

Ravi Passi, M.D., F.A.C.P., C.M.D.
Medical DirectorDr. Ravi Passi is a Board Certified Physician in Internal Medicine and has been in practice in Montgomery County, Maryland since 1985. He trained at DC General and Georgetown University Hospitals. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Certified Medical Director for Long Term Care. He serves as a Medical Director for several nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Montgomery County, Maryland. His interests are: Hypertension, Diabetes, Geriatrics, and Long Term care. He also serves as a Medical Consultant at the Adventist Rehabilitation Hospital of Maryland. Dr. Passi speaks English, Hindi and Punjabi.

Huratu Savage, LPN, BSN
Center Nurse ExecuticeHuratu has been affiliated with Genesis HealthCare for over 20 years. Most recently, she served as Director of Nursing at another skilled nursing facility in Montgomery County. Huratu’s academic career started with her receiving her LPN degree from HMI School of Nursing, followed by an Associate’s Degree from Montgomery College and then a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Chamberlin University. Her career has spanned roles in both long-term care and acute care settings. She feels the combination of having worked in these two areas has been of great benefit as it has broadened her knowledge of health care protocols, as well as regulatory requirements. Huratu is excited to be the new CNE at Fairland Center and looks forward to contributing to the Center’s ongoing success.

Nalthia Brown
Director of Admissions and MarketingNalthia started working in the health care in 2006 as a Phlebotomist. During her time she transitioned into eldercare in 2011 and enrolled in a BA program at Chamberlain University College of Nursing. She has had several healthcare management positions as a Director of Rehabilitation and a hospital liaison over her career. Nalthia brings her motivational instincts and positive attitude to the residents and staff; on a daily basis. She is inspired everyday by the families, volunteers, visitors, residents and staff that make Fairland Center such an amazing place to visit, work and live. Her goal is to make the admissions process easy and welcoming for patients and their families.

Mony Johnson
Vent Program ManagerMony is licensed by state of Maryland. She graduated from NBRC credentialed respiratory therapy program in 1986. Mony is a graduate from Kerala University, India. Mony is working with the vent unit since 1994 at Fox subacute in PA and moved to MD in 2004. RHS started the 20 vent bed program at Fairland center in October1, 2004. Fairland center respiratory team have the state of the art vents and equipment’s. All vent residents have the weaning protocol under the guidance of the pulmonary doctor Dr. Gebrimichael and decannulation protocol under the guidance of Dr. Gomez. Mony was chosen two times the cover picture of the advance magazine for respiratory care and speech magazine.
