Coronavirus UpdateView All Updates
Dear Family and Friends,
We understand the huge toll that separation has taken on our residents and families. We are excited to announce that our Genesis-affiliated Centers will now allow indoor visitation at all times and for all residents (regardless of vaccination status), with the exception of the three scenarios listed below. CMS, the federal agency that regulates nursing centers, has updated its visitation guidance due to high resident vaccination rates and a drop in COVID-19 cases around the country. read more

Catharine CadiganMedical Director
Dr. Cadigan got her inspiration to be a doctor while working as a spinal cord trauma nurse. She completed her medical education at Northwestern University and her residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, after which she spent a fellowship year at Johns Hopkins which jump started her love of the medically complex. She worked in a clinical practice for 18 years and also worked in medical education where she helped to establish the MMC-Tufts Medical School program. After a time she moved back to Chicago to be with her Dad until his death. Dr. Cadigan has a love of skilled nursing , and when given the opportunity, returned to her "heart home", Maine. This move also allowed her to be closer to her children. Her role at Genesis combines her love of rural Maine, care of skilled and long term care patients, and an important leadership position in which she hopes to make a positive and sustaining impact. In light of the potential harm the pandemic poses for nursing home residents in particular, Dr. Cadigan is vigilant in ensuring the safety and health of Genesis Healthcare’s patients. She stands behind the initiatives and processes Genesis has put in place and says, Safety is our top priority! If you would like to speak with me, please contact the Center at 207-474-9686.

Caring staff and fun activities
I like that we have choices for meals. The nursing staff is very conscientious. The rehab team is very flexible around activities. I like the activities provided by the activities directors. They are fun! Housekeeping does well with the upkeep of my room. Social Services keeps in contact with how I'm doing. Administration is on top of any concerns I may have.
I have been very pleased with my stay at Cedar Ridge. Everyone was very helpful in the process of getting me to where I could go home. I can't thank them enough.
Loves it here
Doris is my Mom and she loves it here at Cedar Ridge. She just got placed in her own room. She feels very comfortable with the staff and feels they go out of their way to take care of her. It is her new home and she seems to fit right in.
- Lana C., Doris’ daughter.
I would like to give a big thanks to the staff at the Cedar Ridge Rehab Center. A special thanks to the physical and occupational therapy unit for getting me up and on my feet again. Thanks so much.
