Coronavirus Update
View All UpdatesDear Family and Friends,
We understand the huge toll that separation has taken on our residents and families. We are excited to announce that our Genesis-affiliated Centers will now allow indoor visitation at all times and for all residents (regardless of vaccination status), with the exception of the three scenarios listed below. CMS, the federal agency that regulates nursing centers, has updated its visitation guidance due to high resident vaccination rates and a drop in COVID-19 cases around the country. read more

Kindness and professionalism
Thank you all nurses, aides, business office, front desk, activities department and doctors who all played a part in our father's short stay at Genesis. He was very well taken care of and you all played an important role in his life. So many people with so many personalities that made our fathers stay quite enjoyable. Genesis is a beautiful facility and we loved all of the activities that were offered to our father as well as other residents to make their lives more enjoyable. Mostly, it’s the people and their kindness and professionalism, their love and empathy that make Genesis so special.
-The Ivanoff family thanks you all!
CNA's talk 12 hour shifts
Two of our CNA's, Madison Johnson and Stacy Batson represent some of one of our newest aides and one who is a seasoned veteran in the field. When asked how they like 12 hr shifts they replied happily.
Stacy Batson- “Twelve hour shifts allow me more home time and the ability to get more done on my days off. It also affords me more weekends off and it is easier for me to make and keep appointments outside of work hours.”
Madison Johnson-“I love the 12 hour schedule, having the extra days off is nice and benefits me in the long run.”
Dedicated staff
When I first arrived here at Bridgeville Rehab, I was in bad shape. I had a severe infection that settled in my pelvic area and had to be debrided and cleaned out. The infection had eaten away at my hip bone. So, because of the infection, I wasn't a candidate for a hip replacement and they performed a girdle stone procedure which requires them to remove part of the upper thigh bone which made my left leg shorter than my right leg. When I came here, I was non-weight bearing on my left side for the first two weeks. It was difficult, but after 2 weeks of the non-weight bearing was lifted, I started slowly progressing. It was a tough road and didn't seem like I was making any progress. I was getting very disheartened and disgusted. Then I was ordered special shoes. The left shoe was elevated to help me with my walking and that made all the difference in my therapy. Now, I can walk and climb 16 stairs at a time. I have met all my goals and more all because of my hard work and the therapy staff's dedication to my care! Thank you all!

Goals and expectations were met!
I had a terrible infection, a UTI, and an infection in my wound. My brother and sister-in-law had heard good things and they helped me to choose Genesis. Everyone here was really nice and they took good care of me helping me to recover. My goals and expectations were met during my stay. There are too many people to name but my nursing assistants and nurses were great and always amazing and my therapy was excellent!

Kind words and emotional support
My experience with the PT team was a God send. I was in so much pain and frightened when I arrived here. The kind words and emotional support was great. In about two and a half weeks Brian had me up and moving! I am very satisfied with my stay here. I would recommend Bridgeville Rehab and Care Center to anyone that has to have hip surgery. There are angels working here. Everyone was so patient and caring.

A very successful stay
I came here with a new diagnosis of Parkinson’s. I could not talk properly and was very weak in my upper body. Everyone treated me with respect and gave me encouragement. I do feel that I achieved my goals here. I got my speech back after not being able to talk when I arrived here! This is a nice and clean place. They are good with COVID precautions, the food was excellent, and so was the rehab! My rehab stay was successful!
