Brandywine Hall is located in a residential area of historic West Chester, the county seat of Chester County, Pennsylvania. This vibrant borough includes many restaurants, boutiques, galleries, historic homes and is located within 10 miles of beautiful Longwood Gardens. Our facility has a ShortStay Rehabilitation Unit. We provide a full array of rehabilitation services including wound care and complex medical care as well as Respite, dementia and LongTerm Care. Our ShortStay patients can enjoy made-to-order breakfast and lunch in our bistro. All rooms include a phone, television and wireless internet service. Patients and residents also have access to a full-service spa and salon.

Sara J. Thompson
Center Executive DirectorSara has been a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator for the past 8 years. Prior to Branydwine Hall, Sara held several positions in the nursing home industry, as Administrator, Assistant Administrator, and Director of Dietary Services, handling all aspects of nursing home operations. Sara’s primary goals are ensuring the delivery of resident-focused care, using well-trained staff, and implementing the most current methods of providing care.

Dr. Alison Leff
Medical DirectorDr. Alison Leff graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000. She received her training in internal medicine from Pennsylvania Hospital and served as the Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program. After treating hospitalized patients for many years Dr. Leff transitioned to outpatient care. This diverse experience provides her with the unique perspective of treating both acutely ill patients as well as patients over the course of their life span. Dr. Leff was awarded the Main Line Top Doc award in both 2018 and 2019. In March of 2018 Dr. Leff joined Genesis HealthCare and became Medical Director for Brandywine Hall.

Michael Furline
Center Nurse ExecutiveMichael has been a Registered Nurse since 2001. Prior to Brandywine Hall, Michael held several nursing administrative positions in long-term care, acute care and free standing hospitals, including Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Program Director, Admission Director, and Community Liaison; working in multiple states across the country including Delaware, Nevada and Arizona. Michael is a graduate of the University of Delaware's Bachelor of Nursing Program, possessing a Master's of Business Administration from Wilmington University and recently completed coursework towards his Master's of Science in Nursing from Wilmington University. Michael is passionate about both patient care and the nursing profession.

Monica McGuire
Director of AdmissionsMonica joined Genesis HealthCare in May 2019. She began her Genesis career as an Admissions Coordinator. Monica is a graduate from East Carolina University with her Bachelor's in Consumer Studies and Business Administration.

DeAnna Spott
Director of RehabilitationDeAnna is Brandywine Hall’s Director of Rehabilitation, a position she has held since November of 2017. DeAnna has been a devoted Genesis therapist since 2011, when she began working as a Staff Therapist at a skilled nursing facility in Carbondale, PA. DeAnna spent five years working for Genesis in Scottsdale, AZ at an independent and assisted living facility; during which time she was promoted from a Staff Therapist to a Program Director in 2015. DeAnna holds an Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences and a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy both from the University of the Sciences.
