Recovering from Locked In Syndrome
One of our most inspirational experiences is the rehabilitation of a young woman who came to Bel-Aire following a devastating stroke at the age of 55. She arrived to us with locked in syndrome - the only thing she could move was her eyes - communication was one blink for yes, two for no - through months of rehabilitation we were able to discharge her back to her home with her husband, she is enjoying cooking, sewing and many of the things she loved to do prior to her stroke.
