Coronavirus UpdateView All Updates
It is hard to believe that the holiday season is fast approaching. We know that spending the holiday season with friends and family is always important, especially this time of year. That’s why we are working hard to make it as special as possible despite the ongoing pandemic.
As we plan for this year’s fall and winter holiday celebrations, safety remains our primary focus as we work to protect your loved ones, our staff, and families. This year we will all be celebrating differently as celebrations will not be in large gatherings. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer opportunities for families to share meals within the Center with loved ones or large resident and family gatherings. As recommended by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), a federal regulatory agency, we also strongly discourage resident Leaves of Absence, to protect both the resident who might be exposed to coronavirus when outside the Center, as well as all other residents when somebody returns from a leave of absence. read more

Anthony GeiserCenter Executive Director
Anthony is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and has been with our team for a little over 2 months. He came to Bear Creek with experience from another facility. He has also previously worked at another Genesis facility, Powerback Lakewood, while studying for his Nursing Home Administrator License. Over the last 28 years, Anthony has given his heart and soul to healthcare. He started his journey in the U.S. Army and has been dedicated to Long Term Care since 1995. When asked what he thought of our facility so far, he said, "Bear Creek is a building with 'soul'. You can feel it when you walk in." In his free time, he loves to stay active outdoors doing things like white water kayaking and mountain biking.
Dr. AnnebergMedical Director
Dr. Anneberg is our medical director here at Bear Creek and has worked here since 1980! He was born and raised in Iowa where he then graduated from Iowa State University with an Engineering degree in 1970, served in the US Army from 1970-1972, and finally completed his doctorate at the University of Iowa School of Medicine in 1976. In the past, Dr. Anneberg has been an Interim Medical Director at 3 other Genesis facilities in Colorado and has worked in health care as a physician in Colorado since 1976. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, traveling, and running. He states his dedication to Bear Creek Center is due to the stable and dedicated staff he's encountered in his 40 years here.
Kay Duley, RNCenter Nurse Executive
Kay is our Center Nurse Executive and has worked at Bear Creek for 18 years! We are the only Genesis facility she has worked for in her 47 years of health care. She graduated from the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska. Kay was born in Iowa, but has lived in Colorado since 1995 where she has enjoyed cooking and camping in her free time. She is extremely dedicated to Bear Creek and loves every single resident and staff member like they're her family. We are lucky to have her!
Emilee SchwartzAdmissions Director
Emilee joins our team at Bear Creek from another Genesis facility, Powerback Lafayette. She was the Admissions Coordinator there for about 7 months before being promoted to our Admissions and Marketing Director. She has been a part of the Bear Creek team for 4 months now, but altogether she has been with Genesis and in healthcare for about a year. The first thing she noticed when joining our team here was the beautiful scenery, our patio areas, and how our team members know every resident personally. She is a Colorado native who enjoys spending her free time finding new coffee shops, painting, and studying Psychology.
Amy Svinarich, OTD, OTR/L, DORDirector of Rehabilitation
Amy has worked in healthcare for 14 years and has been a part of our Genesis Rehab Services team for 8 years and joined PowerBack in 2016, then transferred to Bear Creek Center. She found occupational therapy in college and graduated with her Doctorate from Creighton University and was even published prior to graduating. In her free time, Amy and her family enjoy skiing, hikes and mud runs. Nothing feels better then helping people get back to their job of living.
Caring and helpful staff
My husband's mom has been a resident at Bear Creek Center for almost a year now. The facility is rustic and has a nice big fire place she loves to enjoy. We have found the staff to be caring and helpful. She really struggled being there in the beginning due to her memory issues. In the last six months she seems content and happy. Her needs are being met and we know she is safe. She had been living alone and we were always very worried about her. The staff we have interacted with have been very positive and helpful, Stacy, Carie, Sharon and nurse Kathleen in particular. We are grateful she is cared for and safe!
Kindness and patience
Our mother, Bernice Trujillo (Ms. Bea) has been a resident at the Genesis facility in Morrison for 6 years now. Throughout those years we have visited her often, almost daily. Not being able to see here during this unprecedented time has been emotionally trying for us. One comfort we have is this: having spent so much time at your facility, visiting our mother, we have become well acquainted with the staff and we have confidence in the care she is receiving. For this we are grateful! We would like to especially acknowledge: Kay, director of nursing, who has been very accommodating and a model of compassion. Her staff on Wing One express their kindness and patience caring for our mother. Steve, your activity director, and his staff who make the Zoom visits enjoyable and possible. We appreciate their willingness to help us see our mom.
