Juanita K. Correa
Center Executive Director

Ms. Correa has been a licensed administrator since January 1991 in the State of New Mexico. She received her bachelors degree in Community Health from NM State University in 1984.  Ms. Correa has an extensive experience and knowledge in the geriatric field of both institutional and community long term care.

Viola Peina, RN
Center Nurse Executive

Viola is the Interim Center Nurse Executive at The Rehabilitation Center of Albuquerque.

Gail Garcia
Admissions Director

Gail is a Native American who was born, raised and lived on the Pueblo of Acoma Reservation.  She takes pride in her traditional rich culture which promotes the highest value for family, elders and children.  Gail has a combined 17 years of Long-term experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Activities Assistant, and Marketing/Admissions.  Gail has 2 years’ experience in the Transitional Care field at The Rehabilitation Center of Albuquerque.

Eileene Schmandt
Director of Rehabilitation

Eileen joined The Rehabilitation Center of Albuquerque in 2013 as a physical therapist and in 2017 became the Director of Rehabilitation. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Carroll University. Eileen completed her schooling in Wisconsin and then moved to New Mexico with her husband for work and the beautiful weather.  When not working, Eileen enjoys spending time with her dog, running, and cooking.
