Alzheimer’s Association Recognizes The Heights

The Alzheimer’s Association will be recognizing The Heights Care and Rehabilitation Center for their outstanding fundraising and team-building success. The Heights has earned the following honors from the Alzheimer’s Association Cleveland Area Chapter – related to the 2012 Chapter Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which was held on October 7th, 2012 at Tower City:

1st Place Fundraising Team (healthcare category)

2nd Place Largest Walk Team (healthcare category)

The 41-member team has raised (year-to-date) $12,455 which puts them in first place among ALL teams for the 2012 Downtown Cleveland Walk.

The Heights Care and Rehabilitation Center, located in Broadview Heights, Ohio, is a skilled nursing facility providing short-term rehabilitation, long-term residential care and/or secure memory care through their program-driven Solana unit. While their facility is located in Broadview Heights, they serve many of the neighboring communities including (but not limited to) Parma, Parma Heights, Garfield, Garfield Heights, Brecksville, North Royalton, Strongsville, Old Brooklyn, Independence, Seven Hills, Sagamore Hills, Medina, and Broadview Heights.

The facility has 148-beds with both private and semi-private rooms. Additional on-site services, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and social services promote resident-centered care philosophy; with a focus on increasing residents strength, endurance, mobility and independence. Their staff is dedicated to providing the highest caliber of care and doing their very best to improve the quality of life for residents.

At The Heights each and every day is spent caring for and enriching the lives of the residents and their family members. One of their primary areas of focus is memory care – as they do have a secure memory care unit specifically designed for individuals with cognitive impairment related to Alzheimer’s or another dementia. Because this is a focus for the facility – all of their 2012 fundraising efforts have been ear-marked for the Alzheimer’s Association. The team is so very passionate about this cause – and the efforts of the employees really showed in their commitment to their fundraising campaign. The goal for the 2012 fundraising campaign was set for $8,000 – an aggressive goal in of itself – equaling $2,000 more than what they raised in 2011.
